E3 Flasher Installation - NO RED LIGHT [ IM STUPID ]
Alright, so I'm freaking out right now cuz I just installed my e3 flasher and when I finished putting everything together and plugged it in. Theirs no red light, nothing.... I did everything in the video I watched but the slim in the video was a different model then mine which is CECH-2501A slim.
I by mistake only took out a peach like plug from the blue ray from the ps3. The metal wires or metalic things were bent so I couldn't put it back in. So I asked my dad if he could fix the little wires so he did and I could plug the peach coloured thing back with the blue and white paper connecter. I also dent a connecter for the power switch and eject button motherboard, I gently inputed the blue and white paper into the motherboard of the power and eject button till the black line. Also could the blue ray drive cause any issues? Because I spent 2hours trying to connect a fat white and blue wire to the ps3 because my stupid model of the ps3 has it under the blue ray instead of above it. My dad try'ed to put it on the ps3 but no luck. So I tryed it and considering I couldn't see it I was preety confindant that it was connected. If anyone could please tell be an easier way for inputing the white and blue paper from the bottom of the blue ray it would be a great help. Please! If anyone could help me out on webcam or something I would really appericate it! I just want that red light to pop up god damn I'm stupid.

you can turn the ps3 on without the blueray player. (Main way of hacking it so you can take out e3flasher is without it) I have fat fingers(KINDA) so I tilted the drive a tad pushed it in with my index finger and my finger I flip you off with(Used like plyers lol) and pushed in. while pushing in you need the other hand to kind of help with pushing atab down.
Another thing RULE 1 DO NOT WATCH A VIDEO!!!! THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY NOT RIGHT TO FOLLOW!!!! when you install e3 flasher you completely remove the blue ray drive so that's ok that you removed the plug. As long as didn't damage the MB your ok. Make sure you plugged everything in. If that doesn't work you probably damaged something lol Also I should slap your hands for denting stuff lmao. With any hardware stuff you need to be GENTLE.

You checked the Flex cable of the power board.
To keep the drive back on 25 series is a very tedious work. You don't have to keep the drive back to use E3. Assembly 320GB CECH2502B PS3SLIM From Blu Ray Drive - YouTube

@Dartban214
Thanks for your reply's. Alright so the only thing i dented badly was the power switch and eject button motherboard wire/cable/whatever its called. It connects to the back of the power button and eject button. So what your saying is I don't need the blue ray to power the ps3? Would it be dangerous if I just left everything on the ps3 except the blue ray? Just power it on without placing the shell back? @MJ999 Ok, I'm a total moron and noob by flex cable what do you mean? The thing that connects to the power on and eject button? I have the ps3 competely dis-assembled right now. |

But you can downgrade without the drive, it is safe.

Hmm... I have the power supply connected. Both cables one for the actual plug to obtain power, and other that goes to the motherboard. The flex cable is dented but not ripped or scratched... could the dent really be causing the problem? I tryed connecting the power plug but still no red light. The red light needs to work for the system to start right? I guess I should look into it a bit more before I waste any more money and buy other flex cable and hope it works.

I'm pretty sure I did... It's just three cables right? The power supply has one for the plug and a second one for the motherboard then one cable/flex for the eject/power button lights.

c'mon..that stuff is easy compared with other ps3 fixes...for each thing there'a easy solution..its just the way u put it back in, hold the flex cable all the way out with finger, drop in place..and use a long tiny flatscrewdriver to push down the clip...easy..

Do you have a power meter? If so, put it on continuity and touch one end of the ribbons pin to the corresponding pin on the other side and make sure you get a dead short. Do this for each trace, from one pin to the other side pin. If anyone of those doesn't give you continuity, then there is the problem. If the copper tips on either side look bent or mangle, try doing the continuity test on the other side of the ripple in the copper ends. If that helps, trim the copper ends back to the mangled part, as long as it will leave some copper end exposed to hit the motherboard pins I side the clip, it will work.
