So in attempt to downgrade another system i have (cech-2001a)
the trace at 9(blue) and 22(green) motherboard Dyn-001 i put the console back together as its on fw 4.11 i figure illl just use it for official firmwares, or get it downgraded with an e3 clip. when i put it all back together and plugged it in the console has the GLOD. no recovery menu, no controller sync.. could the lifted trace cause this? or maybe i missed something? |

Ps3hax wont let me post a picture :/
the solder pad lifted out, but was still connected to the trace. it was weird, it litterally took NO force, as i am always careful with flashing... i let go off the wire after soldering to the pad, and it fell over and just ripped the pad off the trace. i then desoldered everything, and put it all back together.. and... GLOD. but i should also mention, when i disassembled the system, the heatsink was stuck to the board. now i didn't go prying hard, but it did take a little force to get the heatink off.. i feel like maybe i lifted a trace an on the CELL? |

If a test point lifted its due to your soldering iron been too hot but I agree we need pics upload them to IMg share website and post link
You should be able to rip all the test points off as there at the end of a trace not in the middle |

now that you mention it, i am using a weller 25w, and that is kind of high isn't it?
i think im going to splurge and get a digital system, with the amount of solder work i do, i might as well get a halfway descent solder station... could bridged solder pads cause GOLD? sorry i haven't gotten any pictures, all i have is a crappy cell phone camera..:/ i have to borrow a halfway deccent cam to get quality pictures.. i got another system to downgrade today, but im kind of afraid to use the iron i have now... my first system went fine.. but i dont want to toast another system.. |
