you should go for 2 9800GTX or a "GTX 280" (this ones came out yersterday and are tha bomb) a GTX 280 is better than two 9800GTX and ever better than 2 8800GTS512...

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

i know its more expensive but its the best you can get right now... no need to go for SLi, as i said a GTX 280 or even a 9800GX2 is faster than two 8800 GTS 512

You failed on the selection of a few components. Should have gotten a Quad Core, as for the motherboard, Asus my choise too, but that X38 chipset rocks, P5E series are better. Like georged said, the new 9800 gpu is a better choice.
EDIT: You said xp pro? Need to get XP x64 if you want to benefict those 4Gb of RAM, the 32 bit versions of windows only recognise 3Gb o RAM.

I'm pretty sure that that motherboard doesn't even have integrated graphics. i have 2 8800GTS OC on the way.

actually the 8800 GTS outperforms the 9800. and i can dual boot operating systems its not that hard to do. i'm not dumb about computers.

performance charts
Desktop VGA Charts - Tom's Hardware
they don't have the performance of the newest card yet but mine are dominating.

NOT 8800 GTX... instead 9800GTX you have made a bad choice with those cards...
When you'll see how the 200 series perform you'll be disappointed...
just google for comparisons between the 8800 GTS 512 vs 9800 GTX and you'll see the 9 series outperform those cards in every single test...
