OFW 4.31 Ni No Kuni DLC Question
I have been doing some research and decided to post here asking the best way to do this....
I have a PS3 Slim CECH-2001A - OFW 4.31 I have a retail copy of Ni no Kuni (BLUS 30947) There are DLC familars release from various retailers, and from the collectors edition and even the Prima Strat Guide. I believe there are 5 in total. I found a place to download the .pkg files for the DLC and read I just need to add them to a specific folder on my PS3. Is there any way for me to do that on OFW 4.31? |

Just mainly asking do I have to use a CFW? Or does anyone know if I can just use someone else's save file with the DLC on it?

You need cfw, using someone's save will not work. The information for dlc is not stored on the save

Well I am still working on it but....
gbatemp.net/threads/ni-no-kuni-us-save-modification.341864/ Using that thread I was able to Hex edit my save file and add all the DLC tickets to my inventory. I havent turned them in yet however, I'll try to post and let you know what happens. But my guess is that the DLC download is really just a patch that adds a script to alert you that you unlocked the dlc and then adds the ticket to your inventory. I dont think the DLC download actually contains the familiar, I believe it is on disc |

I know the creatures you get from the DLC are in fact in the game already. The three golden ones are at the end of pokemon style battle ladder. The others can be found in the wild. Please post your findings, you can turn in the tickets at the Temple of Trials. |

It looks like it works perfectly.
I made it to the part in the game you can turn in the tickets, and I received all 5 DLC familiars. Leveled them, metamorphed them, worked great! |

Hi Mytheos, I read carefully the guide you linked to, but I didn't understand how you managed to unlock the "DLC" and "Special Edition" Familiars. Could you be more specific on the subject? I forgot to add: I'm on CFW, does this make things easier? Last edited by cloudfe; 02-18-2013 at 11:52 AM. Reason: Forgot something |
