Ok here is a n00b tutorial for updating to 4.30 CFW

Disclaimer: NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING!!!

Go to system update in your ps3. If your on ANY firmware above 3.55, get a hardware flasher and downgrade. You are done. This will not work for you AT ALL!


Step 1.

Eject any disk you have in the drive.

Download this and save it to your desktop. Rogero cfw.

Great your on 3.55 now download toggle QA by REBUG, install it via pkg files. Run the pkg, you should hear some beeps, now to confirm go to network settings and push at the same time L1 R1 L2 R2 L3 and down on the d pad. If the menu showed up you have successfully dehashed. DO NOT continue if you have not verified that the above step worked.

Plug your usb stick in to your computer and create a folder on your usb stick,

PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

"PS3UPDAT.PUP" is the Rogero firmware that you downloaded to your desktop earlier, rename if needed.

Go to the recovery menu of your ps3. And install the Rogero 4.30 cfw v1
Use this video if you dont know how to put your ps3 in recovery menu.

Or you can use Condor's updater pkg to put your ps3 in recovery menu.

Plug in the usb stick with the Rogero pup in the UPDATE folder, and update the ps3.

I think what they meant to say is that Itskamel, never really fully explained how to downgrade from 4.21v1-v1.9. Also there is no link to the downgrade pup anywhere in this tut, but in the end it's very well made.

Wtf are you smoking he clearly said to make sure on 3.55 and said if you are above this firmware use hardware flasher . And where in the **** does it say anything about 4.21 cause this is for 4.30 Cfw

I do agree, should add a step for those noobs that went to 4.21CFW. Since you don't need a flasher for that.

How To Go From 4.21cfw to 4.30cfw
insert the 'hey dummy(um, noob) this will only work from 4.21cfw or a another 4.30cfw not OFW' warning here
1. Install 4.25 to 3.55 PUP[md5=49D80E07FC1F5CA1B0840E02E94635DB] from recovery menu.
2. Install toggle.qa.pkg[md5=FB11BEC5A0DDE6600BAEE0CC36742D54]and run app from game column on xmb. Make sure to do the button combo to confirm.
3. Install 3.55 CHECKOFF PUP[md5=8BCF7AB97EE4B9D9F74ECDF9FA9E59A8 (Rogero v3.7 works too[md5=8f8166b25d6bed891f292c77de5c4b28]) from recovery menu or condor updater[md5=02F9A418D371B529CA2482F3F53782E8].
4. Install Rogero 4.30CFW [md5=7EF38C26482465B939A8AB5E960F165C] from recovery or condor updater.
5. Enjoy.

Maybe adding a how to check the md5 hash of your PUP files. To make sure what you are installing has downloaded without errors. Here is a good How To Check MD5 Checksum In Windows 7.

Just my 2 cents. Or I'll make a seperate guide, "How To Go From 4.21cfw to 4.30cfw", and you could just link it. Then while noobs are following it they will just get redirected.
