I have an 80Gb PS3 That won't show any audio or video and my controller won't sync even when plugged to the USB. I've tried the recovery menu, but i get 2 beeps as the confirmation for recovery mode, but never get any video to the screen. I tried both HDMI and AV cables (which both set of cables work with my other PS3).

I know I can send it to Sony and probably get it fixed, but I was trying to save that for a last resort.

I've read and looked up several fixes or attempts and none work. I've tried a reflow to RSX chip (I have fixed Ylod on another ps3 before so I'm confident I know what i was doing). Still nothing. I tried the 4 penny trick, (I was thinking wtf the whole time, But it was worth a shot) Still no luck.

The green light stays on the entire time, but never syncs remote or shows audio/video. Also the blue ray drive is missing, but I took the one from my identical 80gb and it still has the same issues. I'm not sure what firmware this console is on.

The next thing im wondering is it a firmware issue? I've never had a bricked console so I'm not sure of the symptoms.

I know this is a lengthy post, I'm just trying to give all the details so maybe i can find a solution.

GPU needs to be reballed.

i am only guessing, but maybe only the appldr is damaged? i had same experience after i messed with appldr patches and ps3mfw on a full functional ps3. it was easy fixable with flasher and patching backup

I have a e3 Flasher on the way, but you say its an easy fix? How do I patch the backup? Or does someone else have to do it? (Seen a post where your suppose to have someone verify the dump file)

I'm wanting to try everything else first before sending it for repairs.
I've never used a flasher before and just going by written guides and videos.

easy fixable to my terms. i hate those hardware fixes with reballing and this pseudo ylod fix. luckily i still hadn't to do this

there are these downgrader patches for 3.55 firmware. these have to be applied to the backup. on ps3wiki are either normal or bytereversed ones for e3flasher
