Of course its possible! Device is not relying on Internal Software, Firmware or anything system related.
Its intercepting Blue Ray DRIVE signal. The position of the device is between the BR Drive and the mainboard.
It just mimics the drive telling the mainboard there is a BR disc inside but instead there is ISO file in the USB drive

They can never or still did not find a way to detect ODDE x360key is working from 1 or 2 years 5 of my friends have it and don`t get banned in xBox Live . CFW have change in someway in the source code etc. But with the ODDE your not making any FW changes you just lie the FW that there is disc in the driver and that`s all

This can be done without hardware. Hell xbox360 has been doing it for years. All you have to do is
1. Rip out your BDD
2. Hook it to your pc
3. Make a program to read and write the BDD firmware
4. Learn how to read the BDD firmware and rewrite it to bypass checks
5. Write the firmware back to the BDD
6. Hook the drive back up to the PS3
7. Burn the game to a BD-R DL only $155.89 for 50 remember to always use Verbatim they are the best disc less coasters and dont forget the drive for $59.51
8. Play the game just like the XBOX360 people do
Now with the cost of the bluray stuff it may just be a alot cheaper in the short and long run to just buy the ODE and a cheap a** external hard drive. Now if you think you can just make this part of a cfw and be good to go then man you got to give me what you are smoking cause thats some good ****.
