anytime i had that problem it was because of the ribbon cable going to the eject board getting messed up... try and put a new ribbon cable in and theres a good chance it will stop that. if it is the ribbon cable then it should power on when you dont have the slims top on... even if it still doesent power on with the top off it could still be the ribbon cable... |

I don't know why nobody else has the same results as me regarding slims.
I was able to dump it, but it was corrupt as hell. Maybe I should restart my research into this.

E3 self powered.
It seems I might of had a bad upgrade to 3.55. When i would turn on PS3 it gave a red screen with white writing in different languages saying System serious error. I started in recovery and flashed 3.55 original firmware. It completed 100% but when restarting, now i get system shutdown after 3 seconds, blinking red light. It doesn't seem to be a thermal issue as i had copper shims on both CPU and GPU along with high quality thermal paste. This is a question that was asked about previously in this thread. May be this can help someone. If I get it working. |

what regulator. it doesnt matter what your wall charger gives, its about the regulator.
regardless this method is not definitive. there are ways to do it, but this was only a test - and an incomplete one. im not going to go into more detail in the future. just read the debricking guide on ps3devwiki.com. also copper shims are ****ing stupid.

regulator
Here's the regulator I used
MCP1825S-3302E/DB-ND Regulator Topology Positive Fixed Voltage - Output 3.3V Voltage - Input Up to 6V Voltage - Dropout (Typical) 0.21V @ 500mA Number of Regulators 1 Current - Output 500mA (Min) Current - Limit (Min) - Operating Temperature -40°C ~ 125°C Mounting Type Surface Mount Package / Case TO-261-4, TO-261AA Supplier Device Package SOT-223-3 Packaging Tube Dynamic Catalog 3.1V to 3.3V shims no good, how so? better temp control alternative?
