I'm looking for any documentation on the SIXAXIS protocol; mainly, how locked down is it? I want to interface directly to the PS3 using my own "controller" and want to verify my findings thus far before I begin testing.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you hope to achieve from this, just simply the fact you can make your own controller or to lead towards a possible exploit?

Regarding Protocol, The PUP'S have PKG'S for Bluetooth and USB which may contain information in the headers which may help you. Have to get a PUP and extract is using a PUP Extractor. I suspect the Controllers are flashed on their Chipboard to work with PS3 Architecture which again would be a problem to overcome unless you could install a Signed PKG that allows access in the XMB for your controler for example on a Debug Unit. Similar to how you allow PS3 controlller to work in Linux/360 Controller.......

Just a controller that connects to the PS3, no exploits. If anyone can confirm things like encryption of the USB protocol or not. I don't think it is since there are adapters out there for pretty cheap. Also if anyone can confirm that the custom window's drivers handshake the same way the ps3 does that would be great. Thanks.
