Hi Everyone



I had bought my book 3 days ago from store, its 4TB External HDD and is compatible with 3.0 and 2.0 USB



Apparently I can plug my HDD on laptop and it works fine but I cant see when I plug it with my PS3



Any help is highly appreciated

i may be wrong but i think you will have to partition your hd into 2x 2tb and make sure that it is formated to fat32 filesystem.

3TB is the limit I have heard of (reads as 2.72GB)

But partitioning and formatting 2x 2TB FAT32 drives will work just fine.

EDIT:
Make sure if you have a WD or any drive with a VCD protection thing on it (http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/passport-vcd.html), to use this to format after partitioning:

..other wise your PS3 will not detect it no matter how much you partition and wipe it.

i have a my book 3TB, i partitioned with paragon partition manager and everything works like it should

I got a 4TB external (with power adapter) working on PS3. I'm using the 'MBR' layout. I formatted it to FAT32 with a cluster size of 64KB and it works. The PS3 shows it as 3814908 MB free and on Win7 x86 it shows as 3.63TB free. I used EaseUS Partition Master home edition to format and set the cluster size, it's free to use.

Your external enclosure must support 4TB if you want to make your 'own' external box that was my first and only problem. xD

ROFL, I ran out of 2.5'' HDD's plus .mp4 files take up a lot of space too. Those are my excuses and I'm sticking to them xD... You caught me cold.

So What I have did



I have created 2 Partion of 1.8 TB on my external HDD and made one as Logical and other one as Primary (thought some one will work)



Now I had connected my HDD with PS3 via Powered USB hub and one sigh of relief that MY BOOK is appearing but no Video file is showing up ??



I have copied jus two different video files in both partitions but apparently is not showing up



I know I am close but would b really happy once my HDD is working

Based on your reply I am trying to format my HDD on MBR layout but apparently its givinG ME GRIEF

I can create a GPT layout easily format it on FAT 32 but when I am trying to change it on MBR layout my HDD is outlayed automatically in to Two different Partitiona i.e. 2 TB and 1.6 TB? ... can I reset this setting as I would like to have 2 Different Partition of 1.8 TB similar format !!!

Q2 - I can assign drive and format my first partition i.e. 2TB but when I select another partition i..e Unallocated 1.6 TB (greyd out) and dosent give me any option of new assigned drive ??...... I have downloaded third party application Easus Partition MASTER home edition & with the help of this I am trying to create a partion but all I get is 185 GB of allocated space on HDD and still left with Plenty of 1.4 TB of Unallocated Space which I still can`t assign to any drive ??



Please Help
