Black screen freezes and games with many files.
Hi guys, recently i've downloaded Silent Hill Homecoming, a very old PS3 game, which doesn't even have trophies.
So i started playing it for a bit (external, 4.30 rebug), and it crashed. Got myself a black screen and had to hard reset my console, giving me that scary 'restore file system' message on the next boot. That kind of crash is different from when i used to play SH Collection, where the game just freezes and just pressing power button turns the console off (after 3 beeps). So, since i don't understand a thing about hardware and stuff, i'm asking you guys, is it possible to have my hard drive corrupted by playing this kind of games (that crash like that, with hard reset)? Also, i remember Ni no Kuni, and it's issues with the retail release, making it possible to corrupt the HDD in it's constant freezes. One thing that these games have in common it's the large amount of files in the game folder. While Silent Hill HD Collection had 19.000 files, Silent Hill has over 4000. That's a lot of files! Do games with lots of files tend to crash more often, or that's just me speculating? I'm hoping to create a discussion on this thread about those kinds of issues, since i couldn't find anything of the sort anywhere. Hope you guys understand. |

Hi. I got the weird system restor message from hard reset. Someone can confirm but i think its a feature of rebug. about games with a lot of files, usually i put them in internal because loading time are better. But i never get freezing because they were set in external.
