to determine the ps3 GameStop is shipping to me, on this wikipedia article the only possible model is CECHExx because the listing said 80GB 4USB, which was the only model made like this.

Now I won't have it in my possession until tomorrow, however, I believe that it will probably be updated to 4.31, but hell I'd be super happy if it came with 3.55, but I am just highly doubting it.

What exactly am I going to need to buy to downgrade the CECHExx, preferred solider-less option, and non-bank breaking options.

I'd hope because it was and older model it would easier, but I am just so confused.

It just all confuses me. If someone would be so kind to help me downgrade this I will keep them posted on the status of shipped firmware and go from there (if it matters).

I am also looking to go to the best cfw firmware to run the newest games (I am going to want to run the new Grand Theft Auto coming out in Sept.)

Another question would be, will sign-in multiplayer be effected (not that I use multiplayer much) Just don't want to be detected.

Than, you could help me thru putting all the homebrew and such on it best for game backups on internal/external harddrive (doesn't matter which, prefer both)

So check out the NAND sections in that guide: I dont know if there are solderless solutions for NAND

The best CFW is debatable.....

I use Rogero 4.30 v2.05, but I hear Rebug 4.30.1 or 4.21.2 is better dues to higher compatibility for PS2 classics.

Dont sign into PSN on CFW, you will get detected and banned, its worthless.

mM or Iris are best backup managers, there are threads for each on here if you search, and they contain everything you need to know.

For solder less you want
Progskeet any (1.1 prefer)
NAND clip
Adaptor (I sell one also)

If you get progskeet 1.2 you need injectus witch needs soldering

If you get progskeet 1.1 and progskeet adaptor you need injectus

If you get my adaptor and progskeet 1.1 you don't need injectus

But regard less you will have to solder 1 wire to both adaptors

I could probably handle soldiering 1 wire, and I do have a solider gun, and some solider. I just prefer not to do it. But if it isn't horribly hard to solider it, what're my options there. Cheapest options.

Skeet £40-60

Adaptor £12 mine £20

Injectus £10-£15

With the 1.2 you can get it all together except clip
And you have postage ontop

PS3 came, shipped with 4.31 as expected. Model number was dead on.

Now does that kit include everything that'd I'd need if I were to Soldier it in, and if I was to go soliderless router, would a 360-clip work? & if so what is the pin count for my ps3 model (CECHExx) From what I understand 48, but im not sure, so I am just asking more questions.

Also if I am missing anything please help me out also, I'm trying to wrap my head around all this but I am new the the scene, i've done mods on Wii's and such but they were just softmods. But would really like to run homebrew on my ps3, and as I said before PSN and Multiplayer aren't very important to me.
