SOMETHING NEW - DIFFERENT GLOD

Hello all,

So, today I ran into an issue that I've never seen before. Perhaps one of you have. I have a PS3 slim, 2001A, it was running Rogero 4.30/4.31 (the newest one 2.05). It stopped reading games so I changed out the bluray drive and when I put it back together, I got the GLOD. The weird thing is, the controllers DO sync and the PS3 is acting completely normal besides no video or audio. I can even unplug the controller and it will sync up wirelessly. It single beeps to reset video and double beeps to go into recovery, but no picture or sound.

Is this the RSX needing a reball?
What else would cause this?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you tried connecting it through the analog display connection on the PS3, instead of through the HDMI connection?

Often/sometimes, it only sends out on the analog video-port - not on the HDMI port, until you manually set it to output to HDMI in options.

Thank you and yes. I've done all of the basics.
Just to skip a few of the little things, I reball PS3's and also am quite familiar with the little tips and tricks.. Usually on a GLOD the RSX chip needs a reball or reflow(yuck).. But before I did any of that, I wanted to know why the controllers sync and everything else works as it should... But.. I put my E3 Card reader in and only the red light comes on when attempting to go into FSM. No blue light. This is on Rogero 4.30/4.31 It's not computing.

Argh...

btw did you measure on the power connector for the drive if it have the 12V and 5V to it?

somehow i think the problem is related to the drive switch...

I just changed the laser.. Same drive..

But no... I didn't check. I have it sent out to my friend from the site, he's going to take a look at it for me. I believe it has a soft brick or a software issue...
