Yes, that is correct.

The first way, can be any one of the GND points. Doesn't have to be the one you pointed to.

The second way, after soldering the wire you will need to put the first switch up on the flasher. To keep the PS3 on for flashing.

Be careful soldering. It is easy to burn right through the ribbon.

Yes, thats is correct,
you have to options to halt your PS3:
One: connect the Nor Tristate point on the Mobo to SBE point on the ribbon and put your flasher in fun flash (100000) (all switches sown except the first up) and you do not have to remove the wire just put the first switch down but you remove it after finishing the downgrade.

Two: Nor Tristate on the Mobo to any GND Point on the Mobo. and has to be removed after the first flash

That should do it

my frined asked me how can he extract the id from the bakup because he brake his ps3 long time ago and i told him how to fix it but he has alot of bakups and he does not know which one belong to the brake device so he want to know how can he extract the id from the bakup
