you should know how to do this...but if you dont heres how to download from newsgroups (NZB) if you have virgin media broadband

1. download GRABIT here: http://www.shemes.com/
2. install then run
3. right click on my grabit / add server ... then enter the following


server name : (whatever you want) eg. virgin
hostname: news.virginmedia.com

and change maximum allowed connections to 50 then apply.
now goto a nzb site (eg.) http://www.nzbsearch.net/
and search for what you want , download the nzb file and launch with grabit ...if you want to change where grabit downloads the files to this can be done in the EDIT/PREF tab.... congratulations you are now downloading from newsgroups and it didnt cost you anything extra .... remember with virgin media you only get 30 days retention (this means that if the file is 31 days old you can not download it) so grab the new releases strait away.

Wow, Virgin gives 50 connections ? I hate my ****ty Tele2 provider XD I only get 2 free connections approx 50 Kbps

not strictly true, you can download it but it might be broken, in which case just d/l the par/par2 files accosiated with it and repair with QuickPar http://www.quickpar.org.uk/

Obviosly the longer over the 31 days you go the more broken the files will be and the less chance of a repair.



I use newshosting (at a cost) which has a 1638 day retention, I can normally d/l and repair stuff much older than the retention

Oh and i use www.usenet-crawler for PS3 NZB's, they seem to be the most up to date for PS3 stuff

i get full speed & download at 12 to 13mbps (you can d/l a 1.5 gig movie in 1min)

its a bit hit & miss with virgin sometimes you can grab the file but sometimes it says file not found .. at least thats been my experience

i use usernet crawler too ... you have to register but it is a great site!!!

i used to use this and it always maxes out my 60mg broadband but it stopped working a while ago and didnt it was coming back so ill be having me a look at this again
