No it wont make a differance with most games but some do need a disc in the drive to boot...

I have a question, can spoofing a ps3 to 4.3X make it so that when you launch a game, it wouldn't ask you to upgrade your 3.55 ps3?

You'll still need to fix the game with either a patch or e-boot fix, you cant just spoof chuck in a copy of a 4.31 game an expect it to work, all it's doing is tricking your ps3 into beleaving its on 4.31 so when you sign in it passes the check, it'll sus you out if you try an boot a non fixed or patched game. If you mount the spoof to 4.31 then mount your game threw your back up manager, then sign in then run the game, the only thing you'll be doing is showing your psn pals that your playing a copy of a game thats not out yet... Also you can update your trophy's but only those that are pre Dead space 3 as they clocked what custom firmware user's were doing...

I could bypass all this game patching by just updating a 3.55 ps3 to 4.30 rogero right?

I agree with yellow. 4.30 Rogero CFW would solve all your game patching problems!

Yes but your original question was you wanted to spoof 4.31 from 3.55 ?
I sugest you way up the pro's an con's of being on either firmware before it's to late to go back. You may find that you may not be able to do some stuff on 4.31 that you could on 3.55....
Everything 4.31 cfw can do 3.55 can do just as well with a bit of jiggery pokery, if it's just for the sake of being lazy then just think when they patch it your gonna have to go through the whole finding patches thing anyway. Also all these new firmware's were based off of 3.55.

As of right now, I have a 3.55 ps3 and finding game patches to make games that require a higher firmware to make it work on 3.55 doesn't always work out. So if updating the system to 4.31 rogero can prevent the updates to ask me to update the firmware and to avoid me looking for game patches, then I'm thinking why not update the 3.55 ps3 to 4.31 cfw
