Hey kid, I don't get them off ebay like a chump.

Seeing as you're not in my country I will give you a hint.

Easy way: Pawn brokers ($150)
Hard way: Insurance repairers ($20)

And before you start thinking "yeah but they will be broken" - no, not always. Firstly most insurance repairers DON'T repair consoles due to the economics of it - secondly that means they don't/rarely check their fault. Meaning you could have a PS3 some ****wit thought didn't work because they did not do a video reset, or at worst the laser doesn't work and needs replacing (add +$20). So what they do is sell it to businesses (like me), private people (like yourself) or to auctions. They go from $20 to $100. Always slims. Oh and if its a power issue they throw it in the bin, so technically I can get a PS3 for $0 just by saying "hey don't throw them away".

The worst PS3 I had gotten from an insurance repairer (other than lasers) had missing screws (even heatsink) because some kid must have just taken it apart and couldn't put it back together. Easiest PS3 was -- nothing, nothing was wrong - mislabelled as "DVD FAULTY" but it was fine.

Anyways I don't care. Enjoy my free advice.

PS. Yes I have made a lot of money doing this. But then again, I run a business.

Hi everyone,

I recently started listing some PS3's that are jailbroken on the site. I've been dealing with some pretty weird comments that have nothing to do with the PS3 I'm selling.

People stating that they can buy one for $20.00 easily on Ebay

Or, "That's way too expensive"

I understand that some of you may have your connections, and that's great, perhaps if you can buy them for $20.00 you should be selling them on here cheaper so that you can help out our fellow members instead of trudging my listing through the mud.

From what I've seen, Jailbroken systems sell on Ebay every day for $299.00 and above. Some of these systems have broken lasers, or get the YLOD, or have been repaired. The ones that I list are fully functional and at worst, have had the bluray drive/laser lens replaced.

I'm not here to ask for all of the negativity, I buy units off of Ebay, replace the laser or fix a software issue, and then list them. If you are not interested, that's great, but leave your negativity somewhere else. If everyone on this site can get a way better deal, then great. Can you overcome the urge to drop negative slop on someones page? I hope so, because I wouldn't do it to you. I'd scroll over it, laugh at the price and keep going. But if you must stand out and show everyone how cool you are by doing it, I understand.

In the mean time, I'll continue to post my listings here, 3 of them listed yesterday, and all three of them sold for about $300.00 You can click on the Ebay link and see that they were purchased. I'm not here to get rich, I buy the units myself for up to $180.00 and lasers cost between $30.00 and $40.00. Plus the work I put into it.. and shipping costs. I don't make a huge profit, but I put them on here so that other members can enjoy a jailbreak as well.

Yeah, mine is more like a hobby. I'm doing it to help out the people on the site. It would be awesome to be able to find some units for that price, but I don't have a ton of cash to put up front on units that "may not" work. I have to go for the sure thing everytime so I spend the $120.00 or $160.00 and buy the laser and fix it, then list it for $30.00 or $50.00 more so that I can cover shipping and still make a couple bucks at the same time as getting someone here a PS3 that they can use. Yeah, I do appreciate your advice, I'll look into it. Got any specific links you can share so that I can have a place to start.. BTW, "Kid" is a bit young for a 37 year old man.. Not sure how old you are, but try to be nice huh

Also what risk is there for $20-100? When repairing them costs $20-80 max. You will always make a profit. Just need to get up and do it!
