Wanted to know how to downgrade ps3 slim from 3.56 to 3.55 I'm a total noob so be patient with me but thanks in advance for your help

3.56 is a difficult one, please click the banner on top of this site (with the red text "PS3 Scene Status" for all info about jailbreaking....

You will need to know your PS3 model number I.E: CECH-2001b (found on back or underside of your PS3 along with the date code/date)

From there we can guide you.

BUT if he has a slim datecode 1B 250x series he has metldr2 and cant downgrade... no?

You are wrong Here m8;
His Ps3 is on 3.56 so it is a mtldr1 so it can be downgraded either using the regular way or using 3 Mas Patch

Yeah I think I meant 1A:

1A January, February, March / 2011 Sometimes 3.56, 3.60 3.55 or 3.56

1B April, May, June / 2011 No 3.61, 3.65, 3.66 3.60

1B would mean he couldnt be on 3.56 at all... but if his 250x is date code 1A

1A = 1/2011 (first quarter 2011) the sku info for CECH-25xx =

..yes you are right .. 1A = mtldr 1B = metldr2... I think this is confusing me today ...

So basically any 3.56 console can be flashed using 4.30 checkoff/MAS patch.

90% you are right
1A is 100% downgradable
but you can find in rare cases 1B to be downgradable, i did one. the Min FW is 3.56 (and i think it is the ones made in early April - 2011)
