Yes, exactly. And some proof that the OS was upgraded months ago (as opposed to days ago when I had the console) would help a lot. Perhaps Sony keeps track of when the OS was downloaded..? I'll ask them.

I'm positive the update didn't happen in my home unless the PS3 become sentient, cracked my WPA2 then updated, all in the first 2 minutes of usage

Jokes aside, I'd love to get revenge and am not afraid of a conflict. Bear with me: I get to his house, dialogue isn't an option (he's unwilling), do I attack him. Baseball bat, knife, stun gun or something. Break a few things, come back to my flat. I'd be suspect number one, then I'd have a criminal case against me taking time and resources.

Or I pay someone to do it for me, that would cost as much as an used PS3 tho, assuming I'd find someone like that. If I look online for that service on, say, The Armory, I'd probably get scammed again.

I'm all in favor of revenge but it must play out well in the long term also. I've started making a fake account a day to purchase his items, not pay and give more negative feedback. When googling his name the first hit is already a page I setup warning others.

yeah ofcourse..u can't cuse as the good guy ur the one with the problem..the world just isn't fair..im not seeing u need a knife..but just like the good old days where we used fists..1 on 1..no police etc...it all depends on many things..the way u present urself when going for an answer..anyway thats some sh*t deal..we feel for ya nxt time dont buy that quik from a distance over the internets..stuff like this is best to go after it and see it running..no problems..no knifes etc at all

get his rep low. contact ebay, let them know he scammed you and theyll pay you. its kinda late for this though...

all in all, please update us on how all this bad business is going for him (between ur fake accounts and him)

I think you're out of luck. I don't think there's a way to find when the PS3 was upgraded. Your only options would be to try to file a claim, if that doesn't work and you're stuck with this PS3, it's downgradable with a HW flasher.
