Convert ProgSkeet v1.2 -> v1.1 Service
Phoenix II Conversion Service: Transform your ProgSkeet v1.2 / v1.21 into a shiny new ProgSkeet v1.1
Did you purchase a ProgSkeet v1.2 / v1.21 in the hope of being able to read and program both NAND and NOR flash memory only to realize that it does not quite do what it should? This happened to me too! However it was clear to me that the ProgSkeet v1.1 DOES work and is a great product… BUT! They are no longer available to purchase and are rarely found on eBay. Wouldn’t it be great if the ProgSkeet v1.1 could be reborn and made available again? I therefore went about reverse engineering the ProgSkeet v1.0, the ProgSkeet v1.1 and my own ProgSkeet v1.2. (If you are interested, see my thread here: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=46586) The results of all this work has enabled me to recreate the ProgSkeet v1.1 PCB and hence was born the ‘Phoenix II’ – v1.1 risen form the ashes. While I was designing the PCB I added some improvements over the original design: •The connection pads are now via’s which makes them far more robust therefore preventing damage through repeated use such as that used by ‘pro’s. •The connection pads are placed at a pitch of 2.54mm and are through-hole allowing for the connection of standard pin headers (further improving robustness). •Off-board 3V3 connection added. •An optional 60-way header has been added to the standard 50way ‘solderless’ connection for future expansion. •Improved heatsinking of regulators. •Silkscreen ident’s for connection pads now also added to bottom of PCB. •Decoupling capacitors now correctly routed to FPGA supply pins for greater noise reduction. •High quality 2-layer 1.6mm thick PCB construction. •PCB finished in purple solder resist with gold flash 1oz copper. •Polygon pour stitched copper GND planes for enhanced noise reduction. •Dimensions: 70mm x 63mm I am now making this available to anyone who wishes to make use of their non-working v1.2 / v1.21. •Simply send me your ProgSkeet v1.2 / v1.21 ‘Black Tar’ AND the USB Slave Board that came with it. •I will then take the necessary components off your v1.2 / v1.21 PCBs. •Transplant them onto a shiny new Phoenix II PCB… •…along with some extra parts. •Test everything works. •Clean away flux residue using a two-stage cleaning process . •Send it back to you. The Phoenix II is a 100% reproduction of the ProgSkeet v1.1 (+ improvements) and will therefore do everything it did: dump and program NAND, dump and program NOR! Cost for this service is only £40.00 (not including postage charges). If you are interested in getting that ProgSkeet 1.2 / 1.21 working, please PM me. Note: When sending me your 'Skeet's, please, please include your username written somewhere so I can keep track of things! Thank you, Andy PS, I have now designed a Phoenix III 'Professional' version, see here: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?p=576437 Last edited by underwurlde; 04-12-2013 at 07:33 AM. Reason: Convert v1.21's too! |

What 'slow' service would that be then? So far, the day I get the skeet in I do my stuff and send out same day.
