Data transfer from jailbroken PS3 (Rogero CFW) to unjailbroken PS3
Hi all.
I am a noob to jailbreaking. I have done alot of research although it all seems very overwhelming and i have a few questions. I understand the general concepts I think  Anyway, I have decided not to JB my PS3 (It needs to be taken apart and have a hardware flasher installed to downgrade to 3.55). I therefore am looking at purchasing a slim PS3 that is JBroken and running 3.55/4.31 Rogero CFW. I was told by the seller that it CANNOT go online. Firstly, Why is this so? And can I do anything to make that PS3 run online (PSN) safely? If not... I was further informed I can data transfer from the JBroken PS3 to my PS3 if i want to run certain things online (game patches, etc.). Will my unbroken PS3 accept these programs and then allow me to run them online safely?? I cant seem to find any answers on this matter. Also i read if I data transfer from one PS3 to another, the host PS3 is wiped of its content after transferring. Can someone give me any help or insight please. I really dont want to waste money purchasing this JBroken PS3 if I can't use the patches on it or ultimately play online with them.  Thanks in advance.

It sure will accept all the modded patches. My friend did it, and everyone does to their OFW.

It cannot go online because it's probably banned. There are ways to unban it by making it transmit the PSID of a non-banned console, but you always risk getting banned with a jailbroken console.
What data do you want to transfer from the jailbroken one?

If the seller told you that it couldnt go PSN is probably because the system was banned due to it being on CFW. You can get on PSN with custom firmware, but Sony is gonna ban you sooner rather than later. As far as updates you can probably download them with a separate app.

Thanks for the replies.
The JBroken PS3 contains GTA4 patches which was my initial reason for wanting to jailbreak my PS3. Will these patches come across onto my PS3 and be able to work online? What I dont understand about it is why is that any different from being able to have downloadable patches from the net transferred directly to my unjailbroken PS3? Like I thought a PS3 had to be jailbroken to run these kind of patches. Or am I missing some concept??? Then will these patches be deleted from the Jbroken ps3 once I move to mine? |

Yes, you data transfer the CFW Data (INCLUDING THE PATCHES) It'll work on your OFW.

i just done it with the gta 4 mod patch and it works well.. just dont get stupid online and have god mode lol
