Poor read...

The PS3 has never been in better shape. It might be sad for the control freaks to accept but piracy drives scenes forward and is where it's all based.

Unfortunately those people determined to stop piracy at the cost of advancement have caused nothing but problems and anger to the masses -> and following on from that themselves.

Now everything's basically out in the open, things are calmer, the user base (made up mostly of ex petty pirates) is large enough to have a decent number of people who have a genuine interest in this subject matter and aren't in it just for the free games anymore.

So everyone wins, the pirates can carry on playing their latest games, people who have an interest in homebrew are here, irritating god complex developers don't have any carrots on sticks left to hold and peace is restored to the universe.

That's the way it is, and that's how it should be.

I fundamentally resent some of the people who have done most of the work in the PS3 scene on a social level, their achievements, in my eyes, have been overshadowed by their quite ugly personalities.

I'd say the egg.

It's a shame that even with the talents some of the developers in the PS3 scene possess, their talents don't extend to all areas of life - perfectly natural. A chef shouldn't be greeting people at a restaurant (evangelizing antipiracy ethos) and a waiter shouldn't be cooking (hacking)...

Things worked in the past (pre-PS3, bit messy, but they worked) and I hope these would-be do gooder developers can stand back a moment and realize the "entitlement complex", the disrespect, the taking things for granted, the resentment, anger is all their own doing and they are the seed of it all.




But since everything's out in the open now, we can all be friends...until the PS4.

I know the above sounds all rude and disrespectful "don't bite the hand that feeds you" etc, I'm well aware of the mechanics of this and where my view stands is one of grass roots common sense, I have no entitlement gene, I've never begged for anything, not once. I don't ask when stuffs coming, I don't hassle anyone for anything. I'm a spectator basically in this and don't take a side unless a side should be taken. Real life isn't perfect, people aren't perfect and I hope everyone can take a bit of humble pie home and branch across this negativity, but this is my view on the matter...Wouldn't make a thread on it myself but felt like cutting the OP and his stereotypical nonsense down a couple of notches

For some reason, maybe I sound mad here but this kinda rings true here with the whole PS3 scene, swap the labels for the negative ones that are going round in the PS3 scene, and you can maybe read a bit between the lines that the real problem isn't where you might think it is. (look it's 6.37AM....)

Guys i havn't read ALL sites but i just want to tell you this is Brakken former from Tehskeen which is long time down now.

Brakken left the scene in case of "It is ALL BAd about It" and he even closed his site.
Also he called ALL users and coders / developers using/coding stuff which let you free play some games and, you know, all that scene stuff we love, well he simply called ALL PIRATES !!

As you may can imagin, this comment from a common and well known scene site was simply BS. As peoples (users/sceners) started to attack Brakken for his closed mind he got mad and shut down his own site with the Words: "The scene dono deserve such a place like his one"

Sooo THIS is Brakken and now he is back to rant about thoes guys who actually have made the scene a better one.

God work Brakken, we love you all!!

Well anybody can like or even feel related to some of the statements on this post.
I just don't feel like that.

Most of all because if what i read is true that Brakken shut down his own site because that reason, i can understand that condescending way of his towards many users on this site.

I will admit though that the article has an excellent and fluent english and like i said many times before Op can be part from some political party (he/she fits on that spot).

Shame that this is not about political views, nor about some moral issues.
We know about pirates, about devs, about progress about setbacks.
But above all about progress, yes sometimes many can ***** at the fact that it's slow not fully understanding that someone who is into coding or searching for some exploit is not easy as take a walk in a park or just click on a ****ing .exe and all is solved.

Hell, most of them don't know what is waiting is. They won't understand what is waiting for something to show on your damn screen to later publish it and not even a proper thanks given for your effort.

Im not a dev but i know how some devs work and man, it's not easy. Not easy at all.
Specially reversing while you have to "think" backwards.
@KDSBest provided us some resourceful info about how to do it or just understand it.

We have a HUGE database which is constantly being updated = PS3devwiki (and nope im not "throwing flowers" because i want to) it's a reality you have all the information you need to understand from a basic chain of commands to the latest SKU on your PS3 to instruct yourself before ask something that was already written. @euss that guy even talk in /code/ if you don't believe me just check some pastie or hit the irc server. Same as defyboy with hosting and some battles with ****ing sony because they want to "audit" things.

We have the gits and many devs that open their *vaults* or hearts if you want to called that way to experience and explore many other things like @aldostools @cfwprpht just to name a few. Devs dedicated to research specific things like @sandungas many of my sig links i have to thank him for them.
And users that it's a pleasure to be among them like @gingerbread always placing an higher bet everytime he can.
@CaptainCPS-X with his Ace guides, tutorials. @kamel n00b and professional tuts on downgrade, conversion, etc. (Even a 4 yeard old fella can understand how to JB their console with this guy) @baileyscream extensive tutorial on downgrade conversion, etc. @ZOMBIEKILLAH with his mods..and the list keeps getting bigger.

Being honest the one *****ing about this today...only logical reason because boredom is a hobby too.
And we got most of the "flanks" covered.
The one who don't want to educate himself/herself is because he/she doesn't want to!! simple as that. No excuse!.

P.s: I *****ed about sony because i needed to do so. That you can call *editorial* issues.

Just as example: today 4.40 firmware came out - in the midst of the "make-your-own-ps2-titles" and "lets-wait-until-ODE" etc.

Within minutes of download it was documented what was changed, why, what is revoked (not much :P), what keys (same), if new patches blocked ODE (not really), or prevented downgrade (no syscon updates), new spoof for CEX+Shop etc. So within a virtual blink of a wiki, people got spoonfed with the latest headsup.

Want to know the really nice thing? We (wiki is plural / community effort) have been doing that for a long time...
