Swap Disks on Ps3? - PS3Hax Network

Why isn't it possible to use swap method like in ps2 and psx? couldn't we use a loader like swap magic to swap to ps3 backups?

I have noticed if while playing RFOM I swap the disk with Fight Night then save and exit, Fight Night loads straight into the main menu without showing the playstation screen or returning to the xmb. Probably not relevant but I thought it may be worth mentioning just in case.

the swap trick does not work unless u fit the ps2 back-up switch, search the tutorials section for more details!

when u press the eject button to get the first disc out the system the ps3 knows that it has spat the disc out, and when u put another disc in, it does a check to see if it is original or not, and no matter HOW u do this it ALWAYS does the security check, even if u have used the old TIFF exploit we had a while ago!

what if we opened the case to switch the game? and i'm refering to ps3 backups not ps2

Ya, this is the old RFom swaptrick. it also works with F1 when you exit from multiplayer. this was useful back in FW 1.5. it allowed you to play higher FW games without upgrading. unfortunately Sony patched it. although sometimes it still causes odd behavior with somegames if anyone wants to play around with it. for example. i had Ratchet installed. i then used the Rfom trick to swap with FEAR. when leaving Fear the system starting get real slow and then gave the 3 beeps and reset. when I went to the XMB game save data Fear had Ratchets icon.png.

oh ya, itÂ´s already been tried with ps3 games and opening the case to switch but no luck. new Blu-ray protections.

maybe in the distant future we will get the chance to use swap magic for ps3 games, until then I will pray for the day.

what kind of protections? does it uses hv to check for the game disk?
