Nicer tutorial-Homemade PS3 Slim Power Switch

Here is a very nice tutorial on how to make your own PS3 slim power switch for FREE. In this tutorial the guy used a power switch from an old lamp and fussed it to a PS2 power cable. I know there is another tutorial related to this one in the forums, however this one is better explained and has nicer pictures. Also, the switch installation is easier. The tutorial is in spanish, however you can let google translate the page for you. The tutorial was originally posted by compa1980 at teknoconsolas.es

I have a PS3 SLIM and to third already it tires to have to extinguish the strip to me (and with her the PC) whenever queria to take the console. It watches in the drawer of the scrap iron and encontre a cable of an old lamp that throws, to which cuts the cable. to part also I have a cable of the PS1 that no longer use. to make sure that the cable supports 250V and 2,5A.

necessary 1-material in my case. flat screwdriver, scissors, to cutter and cables.

2-to unscrew the switch.

3-to present/display it in the cable to see where place it.

4-to peel the cable by the part where one is going away to place the switch. in my case cables appear brown (PHASE) and blue (NEUTRAL). better to cut the brown one.

5-to cut to size, for that I have used like plantila the previous cable.

6-to again screw the switch in the same way who we have been the other.

7-ahi this the ready cable in 5 minutes.

I hope serves to them as aid. 5 minutes in doing it take. I am a little guarrete and for my the functionality wins to him to the aesthetic one (in this case). podeis to prove type of switches of this type yet.

A greeting

.

I attempted this mod earlier today and it worked great.
I found an old reading lamp with a switch in the basement and decided to give it a try.
Thanks for the tutorial because i probably would not of gone hunting for a lamp if it wasn't for reading this thread.

@anndari you rock, thanks so much for the tutorial. I gave it a try and worked great. I had an old lamp from ikea with the switch and it is black, so it matches my PS3 perfectly. :-)
