SuperTux 2 ported for PS3 Linux (Homebrew)
SuperTux is a free software, classic style 2D jump and run game inspired by the Nintendo Super Mario series. It was originally created by Bill Kendrick and is currently maintained by the SuperTux Development Team.
Instead of Mario, the hero in this game is Tux, the mascot of the Linux kernel, albeit the game's only reference to Linux. Many of the in-game graphics were created by Ingo Ruhnke, creator of Pingus. This game has now been ported for the PS3, for those willing to give this a shot you can download it below. Installation: Download the file in root directory. And enter following commands Code:
$ su --enter root password-- # cd / # tar xvfz Supertux2.tar.gz Code:
$ supertux2 [VIA] |

I have to wonder ... is this just an unmodified version of SuperTux compiled for PPC and distributed as a binary ... ? I mean ... it's already available in the repos for RPM-based distros and works fine unmodified ...
I think I would sooner take a red pill from a bald-headed black man with dark sunglasses and a leather coat in an old, abandoned warehouse who recruited me from the Internet than install this without knowing anything about it. :aetsch: Last edited by billb; 08-25-2008 at 08:56 AM. |
