mabey its some king of hex edit that can inject files into a pkg file or change the name of files to be installed
that was the file is still legit and data can installed that would normaly not be able to.

i dont know but would like to know why they closed the post and wanted to talk to him on efnet

unless your rich and have like 200 ps3's you dont care about, i wouldnt advice you to try and hack your ps3 with things that people have said without even testing it themselves... its not hard for me to post something saying "DO THIS AND YOUR PS3S HACKED" but it is hard for me to go and test that thing....

Untill, like psp, proper genuine and working tested hacks are made/released... dont try anything... no matter how despret you are...

the reason they closed it was because they want this to be an exclusive to them so they get all the credit. they don't even let you put links to any other site that is not theirs. if you do they ban you. i should know i got ban for have links to publicly available files that they put on their servers. they even took files from qj.net and put them on their servers i believe.
one of the simple techniques of putting files on the HDD of the ps3 is to get the 1.02-1.8 official $ony updates and get the debug 1.8 firmware. open both in hex edit and replace the header info of the official $ony update with the 1.8 debug header info. go and try to install it. it will copy the data to the hard drive but when it reaches 61% the ps3 trys to expand and unpack .pkg dev_flash files but it gives you an error message corrupt data. if you turn off the ps3 at 59% complete coping the data to the hard drive it will stay there until you do another FW update.
i did a couple of tests with this like changing the .pkg files in the update .pup file. i replaced the xml one with with the custom .pkg that they have at *******.com. it still copies to the hard drive but at 61% it still says data is corrupt. this has been tested on a 1.80 FW ps3.
nothing will come of this.

oh well i have has a ps3 since one month after uk store date and have been checking for exploits and hacks everyday
i get very excited every time i hear a new hack may be out but as like many i will not flash my firmware with any file
i find.

anyone know if a program to unpack *pkg files is out i have looked but not found anything yet?
