but lol no sound on those emulators what's the point really ? ^^
I mean i prefer playin' an ol' game on my comp with good emulators, than tryin' to play them on PS3 LOL, PS3 is meant for playin' new games with good engines RAGE for example...
not crappy ol ass games that my lil brother wouldn't like to play :aetsch:

I don't think BD-j homebrew was a waste of time, it was a interesting thing and many people learned from this, as in coders etc, i don't think it was waste i used the homebrew a lot myself i don't mind not having sound.. but for the future this will upset a few but they will get over it.. but lets hope for another way of homebrew access in the future, but in general u suck sony for disabling this feature cause playing mario on a 50 inch screen is fun lol..

BD-J was something I never intended to use, but still the fact we had something was better than nothing. So now we have flash 9.....great except it is far less flexible than java (e.g. emulators).

Oh well......LETS GET HACKING!!!!

After all sony may have given us Linux but that is a pain to use because:
1) mice and keyboard
2) you have to boot into Linux
3) you can't easily use the PS3 controller
4) I could go on.

Ultimately in order for us to get what we want, we need CFW....After all Sony did want the console to have "other functions".

In the future though I will wait a few days before updating, I only did this because I thought the BBC player would work (it didn't) and screenshots (requires patching).

I know its retarded, but in their eyes ROMs are just as bad as ISO loaders for some reason... >.< stupid pricks, GIVE US SOMETHING SONY! ¬.¬
Maybe we should try to remake every mario game in flash to piss them off and see if they remove that too... XD

erm... dont know how to break this to you, but we HAVE been looking for hacks before. Its not like this outrageous removal of flash support is the reason for us to go start :P

A side note: I want to know now if it would still read java off a BD Disc, otherwise they removes the BD live feature did they not? So maybe we should try looking to burn the homebrew to disc, and running it like that. An expensive methond of running homebrew it may be, but it's still homebrew.

Sony just gave us another reason why we should hack the PS3.

I was thinking. Doesn't java work on websites? Flash does and i think java works too.

So instead of putting them on a disk, put them on a website.

Well, it's not !

I'm really starting to hate Sony right now...

Exact quote from Sony.

Note:

* This system software update includes all features contained in previous versions.

Sony is a liar ! Right now, I really hope they will receive damage. And I no longer see a reason to be behave ethical towards them.

sony doesnt state anywhere that Java homebrew is part of those "features"

and surely you are aware that playing roms is illegal, thus making emulator that run those roms harmfull.

face it it was an exploit and sony did what they had to do. eliminated the exploit.

they are doing a pretty good job at defending their console, oposed to microsoft and nintendo.

maybe java was capable of more than we knew?

actually depending on where you live it's legal to have "backups" of games you own.

Well my bros once owned a NES so I believe that I deserve to have that backup of SMB on my desktop.
