controller mod WITH-OUT soldering?
i am no good at soldering, and i am really no good at putting little things into even little'r places, so i was wondering.....
1. is there a way to attach LED's to the sixaxis WITH-OUT soldering them on, so they come on when the controller is on and go off when it is off, and 2. could i put a couple in the hand grips to make them glow instead of putting it behind the PS button. if anyone has any info on this it would be great!

I think soldering is your best bet on question 1, or else, find tape or something, that might possibly work. and as for question 2, you might be able to make your own little grips with a power supply that comes from the controller or a battery feeding energy to the controller and lights.
sorry if my lil opinion doesn't help much=p

You have to solder. You can try connecting the pins and hot gluing them, but if you know how to use a hot glue gun you can easily solder.

and you got the risk of short circuiting the controller if somethings happen to the glue/tape/wathever, soldering is more safe than other methods

I think you need to have a controller with see through (cheap) plastic, just hold your controller up to the light and see if you can see through it slightly... |

Umm....the only idea i have other than soldering is to use that Might Putty stuff. My god, we picked some up at Target (complete with "as seen on tv" note) just for the heck of it and it works great.
Im sure any epoxy putty works like it.

Right, that only works with the Sixaxis, but can't we swap the plastic cover?

Oooo, Good idea, although doesnt the DS3 controllers have a mount for the vibration motors in the handles, and I know for sure that the sixaxis ones dont. Where could you put the motor...?
