If you haven't did so already, Install Windows Media Player 11 from Download details: Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP (Validation is required. Make sure you have a legal Windows.)

Done? Great!
Now, start it up and click on the arrow below the Library tab,
Now click on "Media sharing".



You will get this:



Set same sharing settings as I have.
Now go to your PS3 and sellect "Search for mediaservers".
It should bring up one server called "Your PC name: Your account name:''
Example: "MASTER_PC_SERVER: Administrator:".

Now return to the WMP11 screen and you will see a new device is added.



Select it and click on Allow.



Reboot your PS3 if it says you can't view the content.

Now, import media into WMP and you are done!

do you need to have a hardwired connection to your ps3? because i've tried this a long time ago with wireless and i always got an error. It wouldn't even read my Tversity server.

No you don't need to have a wired connection. I am using it with vista right now to stream my copy of Harold and Khumar. You can also have the ps3 connected through ethernet cable to the router and the computer go wireless and vice-versa.

it is not necessary to own a legal copy of windows

- u dont have to have a legal copy of vista but maybe for xp
- wifi works fine to stream movies whit, im using it right now.

if u having a hard time whit wmp 11, then just download nero and
use nero media center. or TVersity

maybe controller can do a turturial for that to

dammit, i have just a day ago uninstalled nero... but will do a video tutorial if u want`?
