Linux USB Logger 0.4

StreetskaterFU has coded and released a very simple Linux USB logger which logs the USB traffic of every port.

The application requires you to have a kernel v.2.6.11 (and obviously linux).

To start the program:
  • Go to the terminal, change to the folder the "usblogger" is in and enter:
    Code:
    sudo ./usblogger
The USB logger does run on PS3 (in Linux). To sniff the GameOS USB you need a USB (Male-Male) cable, connected to PS3 to PC, and start the logger on PC (Linux only).

There are many things that can be logged and leads to who knows what, a few cases listed by SKFU below:
  • PS3 USB at PS3 boot sequence
  • PS3 USB to PC fake external HDD
  • PSP USB at PSN Store downloads

The future looks brighter!

Thing that should be logged is the communication between the PS3 and the Controller during an Update (Since the controller needs to be wired with it).

Might be our door. (Would like to test but I lack the important tool which is an USB keyboard.)
