So math thinks unlike SKFU, that the "fake hacker" is not a fake hacker, and he indeed hacked something on the ps3, so this might not be the ps3 with sony's service mode or sony's cloned dongle right??

    what do you think greg?

When did math ever talk to the people behind psjailbreak? all he's doing is speculating what happened and on top of that he doesn't even own the dongle.

If they did reverse engineer it how did they figure out the hardware needed, I still say they got it from a leaked ps3 jig and then cloned it.

No matter what people think about GeoHot, there is no doubt that he accomplished something on the PS3, so if indeed these PS Jailbreak guys used any part of GeoHots exploit, then GeoHot is partly responsible for this dongle, even though he had nothing to do with it directly.

The impression I get from reading Mathieulh's twitter, was that GeoHot's hack is not needed to for the dongle; GeoHot's hack was definately used, however, to reverse what they needed to to make the dongle. So if they patch GeoHot's hack, the dongle isn't necessarily out of comission. At least that's the impression I got. Read the tweet to FutabaGames and kurian2z5. This may seem obvious to some, but for me, the first impresison I got from the article here was that if they patched GeoHot's glitch-attack it would over for the jailbreak. Which, -I think-, may or may not be the case. I originally thought, it might've actually used GeoHot's glitch-attack, except instead of attaching to the pins, the USB port sends the voltage up, but apparetly I guess that's not the case. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

This is why Geohot quitted. He hacked the basics and let others do the dirty job... again. Long live that redhead.

    Geo???

Dispite the attitude of George Hotz by leaving the community hang in his blog with no news for long time with the famous "DO NOT UPDATE", he works very hard i beleave. But if the JigTag is "Stolen" or "Buyed" from a $ony employ at their Repair Centers, i don't see where Geo comes in! (Only with the software)
The hardware in the JigTag it's almost available at electronics manufactors such as Microchip! It's a question of identify the components, make a equal PCB, exctract the original content of original JigTag and copy to the "clone(s)"..
It's only my oppinion, with no ofences at all...

it's a matter of time until Sony rollback a new firmware release and ofcourse it's a MANDATORY UPDATE

    Best regards
