Thread: [How to] Install windows 95 on PS3 using Dosbox

Not sure if this qualifies to be front paged, but why not give it a try? :-)

Thanks to ps3cfw @ PSGroove for this tutorial!

Things you will need:

1. One PS3 running a CFW.
2. Openftpserver 2.1 (Could be lower)
3. DoSbox (installed)
4. The pack located here: Download

Tutorial:

Step #1: Extract win95.rar onto desktop

Step #2: Open filezilla and connect to PS3 with Openftpserver

Step #3: Transfer the win95 folder to dev_hdd0/game/HBDB90000/USRDIR and it NEEDS TO BE like this:



Step #4: now go to ps3 and open Dosbox

now write

mount c ~/win95

then

c:

then

imgmount a w95.img

then

boot w95.img

Enjoy it!

Wow! Now I can play Solitaire!

Just saw this and my first tought is wtf.Why would somebody even bother with win95 when we have linux.I still have nightmares from win 95 "error,error,error".Respect to the dev but usless.Its cool and that's all it is.

The only useful thing Windows95 can do is run WinUAE which has a lot more options than the Linux variant

I really like all things that can be done with the PS3 since the jailbreak. Though pretty useless it is one step further to make Sony's slogan happen.... it only does everything.
So a big thank you to everybody who worked on this !!
