The day has come, I got banned. I've got a big problem now. How do you block those addresses? I know it might be different for different routers but can somebody who has done it post how they did it?

    Netflix

Most routers are pretty easy to spot, but not all of them have the feature. I recently got into a situation where I did not have the option in the router, and had to find a workaround. If you do not have a router with the feature, are unable to find it, or for whatever other reason can't do it that way, there is another way if you have a laptop/desktop with two NIC cards.

Simply go into adapters (In control panel, network and sharing center on windows 7/8 and Network Connections on XP/2000) and right click the adapter that's connecting you to the internet. Go down to properties, and then to the sharing tab. Ensure "Enable other users to connect through this connection" checked, hit okay. Then open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ in explorer, and open the hosts file with wordpad. Add these lines:

    127.0.0.1 fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 mercury.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 nsx.np.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 nsx-e.np.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 us.np.stun.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 ena.net.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 auth.np.ac.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 service.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 creepo.ww.hl.playstation.net

then, using your other network adapter, run a wire from there to the back of the playstation 3. When prompted to login to PSN, just login with whatever. It'll error connecting to PSN and netflix will load up.

Hi guys, here is my case:

I have my PS3 on Rebug 4.41.2 now, after I freshly formatted it (and also swapped the drive). All the data was lost (games, saves, offline trophies, etc.), as was intended.

Now, I went to use Netflix, but I didn't consider that it would say "You need to create a PSN account" (or something like that). Instead, I thought it would directly ask me for my user credentials, as it was doing before the format. Obviously, I went online for several years with my PS3, so the flag files were there and the PS3 had a PSN user information.

Now I wonder... how could I trick the system into letting me log ing to PSN instead of asking me to create a user? What does the system looks for to see if there is a PSN user created? The act.dat file? I have a backup of all that, but I don't know what to do...

If it would let me log in, I would enter any info and since the router is blocking *.playstation.com, Netflix would successfully start. But now, I need to create a user first... I don't know if there's a spoofer or a way that would work for our firmware (Rebug 4.41.2 Lite), but if possible I'd really like to avoid to login again.

Hope I made myself clear; I've tried Googling for this all day but it's quite an specific scenario and I found no info.

Thanks in advance! Please let me know what you think

    Goto etc/hosts
Then at the bottom add this,
    127.0.0.1 fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 mercury.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 nsx.np.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 nsx-e.np.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 us.np.stun.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 ena.net.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 auth.np.ac.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 service.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 creepo.ww.hl.playstation.net

    Save and you are done.

If your router does not have a dns routing ability you are going to have to use your pc.

Run a wire from your pc to your ps3.
On your pc goto your network settings,
    Looks like this (windows 7)

    Next click your wireless connection

    This will pop up.

    Now click properties

    And this will pop up

    Now click the sharing tab,

And now this will pop up

Next check the 2 boxes ( The first box might say Local Area connection 1)

    And finally click OK

Now go to the directory C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
There is a file named HOSTS
drag and drop it into a note pad.
at the bottom of the text just paste this in
    127.0.0.1 fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 mercury.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 nsx.np.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 nsx-e.np.dl.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 us.np.stun.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 ena.net.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 auth.np.ac.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 service.playstation.net
    127.0.0.1 creepo.ww.hl.playstation.net

After that is all done lets move to your ps3.
On the XMB goto settings and then networking settings
Choose custom and choose wired, then go all the way thru.
(Since you are banned from psn, the playstation network test will fail. Dont worry about it. Just exit and go start netflix)

    Now enjoi netflix.
