    Hi <!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: dbtech_usertag_mention -->

I found a way for blitting informations on the XMB screen, it is not perfect atm and work only in main XMB, not ingame.
I found some bitmap-data in main ram, and poke other RGBA values on this place. I make a simple framebuffer, print text
in him and poke him on the screen. The example have only a blue background and white text, but more complex things
are posible, inclusive nice interaktive GUIs.

Source and prx comes later, after cleaning, very very busy atm.

Good mod @3141card ... when looking at the video i promise i could never imagine how is displayed (is a bit shocking, lol... not sure why but i was expecting something different)
I wonder if there are other uses of this display mode other than plugins (e.g: displaying info from the cobra/rebug/miralastijeras/estwald cores... or activating it when exiting a hombrew to keep resident functions of the homebrew running in the background while displaying info)
I guess only time will tell, and because you will release the source code this can be really a good feature to take in consideration for the cfw builders experiments

Btw... the size of the original buffer is relativelly big, right ?... (because i guess is also intended to store the .PAM video file)
And there is no buffer for the background image ?... because this covers all the screen... maybe can be usefull to mess with themes, or any stuff that covers all the screen

Good job as always, waiting for the release

this prx plugin for prxloader enables:

    * taking Screenshots
    * playing MP3 files while gaming

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/by4wn78jvh...enable_prx.rar

    /Mysis

Note: only tested on rebug rex 4.46 so far.
Bonus code: it allows to call almost any OPDs/Export from VSH :-)

    Great, and with source
Please someone test this pluging in a CFW based on the cobra core and report if it works fine

It is a way to put infos on the XMB screen, no need of a PC or other external devices. You can display all you liked, if the prx coding it can, there are limits.
The prob is after booting, the bitmap stuff is on a fixed offset in RAM, a simple algo can find the e.g multiman bitmap. Now we have our start offset for blitting,
and use the bitmap as a canvas for put our own frame on it (the example use a simple single buffer). BUT if you run a app or game and go back to the main
XMB, the offsets are changed, so we need a algo for find our canvas again.

Btw... the size of the original buffer is relativelly big, right ?
    I use only a bitmap in this buffer/cash wathever, the area i use is 322 * 178 pixel of 4 byte(RGBA) = 229264 byte, 223 kb.
I use multiman because it is installed on the most ps3s.

And there is no buffer for the background image ?
I look for but find nothing , it must in a other way come on the screen. I look only for bitmaps, not for grafic commands or such things.
BUT the RAM is big in a smal hexeditor, maybe i found not all things... The prx has a RAM dump function (hold R2 and press O) dump
is in dev_hdd0, if someone will take a look on it.

Here is the sprx+source, it is very simple, not perfect only a quickly writen test app....
I test it only on rebug 4.46, after booting hold R2 and press Start, it will only work after bootup!!! Not after leaving a Game or App.

Im thinking in another display mode used in XMB (probably is another display buffer and can be used with exports) http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/VSH
The big red rectangle that appears at bottom right corner when the PS3 boots in "factory/service mode"

So... first use an vsh export to make it appear... then locate his position in ram... then replace the contents ?
The idea came when thinking in some image that appears in XMB in a static position (in case is always in the same position in ram too, but i dont think)... anyway, i think if it works is a good idea because you can use your trick in a bigger window (and always visible while navigating different XMB icons)

    Edit:
Or maybe is posible to pass the text string when using the vsh export... but this is not enought, is needed to change the info dynamically, so in the case of the thermal display either repeat the export in a loop... or use your trick

But for a plugin selector where the info is "semistatic" (until you change some setting) can work fine and in a more simple way just using the export (if exists and if someone finds it)

using it as a boot plugin along side webman:
Crash with ps3 games, ps1 music plays but doesn't return to game, working fine for psp games but reboot's when exit... also works with star wars doom but mutes game audio.

i just got a black screen with prxloader.

    what cfw are you using?
does it also happen when not used as boot plugin?
the reboot prolly occours as you didnt turn off the playback and thus there is still SPU+threads etc. running (to play the mp3) thus causing error+reboot.

do yout at least see notifications like this? ("but prx loaded"/"..enabled" ?)
