Its almost that time again, the most exciting time in a gamers year, the Electronic Entertainment Expo(E3), which is being held between the 7th and 9th of June, some of you might be new to gaming and don’t really know what E3 is all about, here is a quote from the official E3 website.
E3 Expo is the world’s premier trade show for computer and video games and related products. The show is owned by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the U.S. association dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of the companies, publishing interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers, and the Internet. For more information, please visit www.E3Expo.com or www.theESA.com.
There will be many companies there, but the three big contenders are Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, below i will cover what each of these three may bring to the Expo going by various rumours, these are in no way official.
Sony
Sony has a new handheld games console in the works, its project name is Next Gen Project or NGP, it is reported to have a Quad Core Processor as well as many other amazing features, today a gaming website(Games Pundit) stated that an unknown source, gave them information in regards to the official name of the new handheld machine, they revealed that name would be PS Vita, you can read more about it and vote here.

This E3 will be a little over six years since the PS3 was first showcased and although the first demo console was amazing, the final model released a year later didnt have all that Sony had originally promised, regardless, it was still an amazing machine.
Sony vice president and chief financial officer Masaru Kato has already confirmed that there is a PS4 in development, so will this year see a demo machine of the PS4 on display ?
Read more about that article here, regardless of what is and isn’t released, rumours are going to be wild spread and some of it unfortunately will be misleading, or unfortunately could be true in the case of the NGP, which has been reportedly downgraded spec wise from the original machine mentioned by Sony, this is a massive trait with Sony, promise big, then deliver less:
Original NGP Specs Reported By Sony:

Not mentioned in the image above is the RAM, which was reported to be 512MB, according to a French gaming website, that amount has been halved to 256MB, also the on board 16MB of storage space has also been removed, you can read the original article from the French website here or a Google translated version here.
Microsoft
My personal opinion on the Xbox 360 is that they should have used HD-DVD’s as a gaming medium, this would have meant games would only have needed one disc instead of four in some cases, HD-DVD as a medium on a whole would also have survived and we would have seen a more exciting battle between HD-DVD and Blu Ray.
Rumours have it that we may see a new console, other rumours suggest 3D for the 360.
Nintendo
Regardless of what a lot of 360 and PS3 fanboys say about the Wii, there is no denying that it was by far the most popular, the most entertaining and most sold console of this current generation, Nintendo has stated that they will release a successor to the Wii, which the no doubt will be showcased at E3, the console which is dubbed Project Cafe, will be far superior to the PS3 and Xbox 360, reports also suggest that it will have a new type of control pad, which will house a touch screen panel, the console is also said to be backward compatible with the Wii, though it seems that the machine wont have 3D.
Nintendo will also probably speak about the N3DS.
Amongst all the rumours and what we think and hope will be released, there is no doubt that this years E3 will be very exciting, i myself am looking forward to MS and Nintendo’s show’s and new footage for the new Elder Scrolls game, i think i will leave it there and let you make your own minds up, be sure to mention what you think may appear at this years E3
